Compare with your tile set

Choose the exact set to compare quantities. For other brands or mixed boxes, use each plan’s piece list.

Tie a big bow around an imaginary present. Start with its little knot, then match the broad ribbon wings on both sides.

Before you build with real tiles

  • Lay every tile flat and look from above. Join neighboring straight edges in step order, without overlapping or stretching tiles.
  • Use any colors in your own kit. Every part is an ordinary square, triangle or cutout magnetic tile.

How to build it, step by step

  1. 1. Join the knot and ribbon

Add in this step: 3 square tiles

Place the purple square in the center and a pink square on each side.

Hands-on tip: Keep every tile flat. Join full magnetic edges, working outward from the existing tiles without stacking faces.

    1. Join the knot and ribbon
    Step 1 / 3
  2. 2. Open the ribbon folds

Add in this step: 4 right triangle tiles

Add a triangle above and below each pink square so the ribbon widens outward.

Hands-on tip: Keep every tile flat. Join full magnetic edges, working outward from the existing tiles without stacking faces.

    2. Open the ribbon folds
    Step 2 / 3
  3. 3. Finish the broad ribbon ends

Add in this step: 6 square tiles

Add three squares to each outer edge, starting in the middle and then filling above and below.

Hands-on tip: Keep every tile flat. Join full magnetic edges, working outward from the existing tiles without stacking faces.

    3. Finish the broad ribbon ends
    Step 3 / 3

A little help for grown-ups

You do not need to plan a lesson. Use these prompts when you reach a tricky step, or when your child wants to try an idea of their own.
