Compare with your tile set

Choose the exact set to compare quantities. For other brands or mixed boxes, use each plan’s piece list.

The little fir puts on its green layers for the winter garden. Match the two sides and point its treetop toward the sky.

Before you build with real tiles

  • Lay every tile flat and look from above. Join neighboring straight edges in step order, without overlapping or stretching tiles.
  • Use any colors in your own kit. Every part is an ordinary square, triangle or cutout magnetic tile.

How to build it, step by step

  1. 1. Build the trunk and wide branches

Add in this step: 4 square tiles · 2 right triangle tiles

Start with the brown trunk, add three green squares above it and finish both ends with sloping triangles.

Hands-on tip: Keep every tile flat. Join full magnetic edges, working outward from the existing tiles without stacking faces.

    Step 1 / 3
  2. 2. Make the next layer narrower

Add in this step: 1 square tiles · 2 right triangle tiles

Add one center square and a right triangle on either side, making a narrower layer.

Hands-on tip: Keep every tile flat. Join full magnetic edges, working outward from the existing tiles without stacking faces.

    2. Make the next layer narrower
    Step 2 / 3
  3. 3. Point the treetop upward

Add in this step: 1 tall triangle tiles

Join the tall green triangle to the top square to finish the fir.

Hands-on tip: Keep every tile flat. Join full magnetic edges, working outward from the existing tiles without stacking faces.

    3. Point the treetop upward
    Step 3 / 3

A little help for grown-ups

You do not need to plan a lesson. Use these prompts when you reach a tricky step, or when your child wants to try an idea of their own.
