A little forest guide needs a new home. Leave a wide open entrance, then build a colorful pointed roof above it.

Before you build with real tiles

  • Gather 4 square tiles and 4 equilateral triangles, all with matching edges. Use any colors you like.
  • Four equilateral triangles form the pointed roof, with all four tips meeting at one peak.
  • Assemble the roof separately, then steady the walls while placing it. If the magnets do not hold firmly, display the roof beside the house.
  • This model is a shape reference. The digital model does not measure physical magnet strength, load capacity or collapse.

How to build it, step by step

  1. 1. Choose a place for the house

Add in this step: 1 square tiles

Lay one square flat as the floor of the forest house.

Hands-on tip: Use a square tile whose edge matches the base of each equilateral triangle.

    Step 1 / 3
  2. 2. Leave a wide open entrance

Add in this step: 3 square tiles

Attach the back wall and both side walls. Keep the front open for little friends.

Hands-on tip: Attach the back wall first, then the sides. An adult can steady both sides.

    2. Leave a wide open entrance
    Step 2 / 3
  3. 3. Bring the four roof tips together

Add in this step: 4 equilateral triangle tiles

Place the four triangles over the house so their points meet at one peak.

Hands-on tip: First join four equilateral triangles along their sloping edges into a complete roof beside the model. An adult supports it while placing it over the three walls; the front roof base has no wall beneath it.

    3. Bring the four roof tips together
    Step 3 / 3
